An Act to sanction the const ruct ion of a Bridge

over the Hawkesbury River at Richmond, and

for o ther purposes. [20th December, 1902.]
WH E R E A S , in accordance wi th t h a t it was expedient to carry out t h e construct ion of a br idge over t he
t h e provisions of t he Pub l i c W o r k s

Act , 1900, t h e Legis la t ive Assembly did, by resolution, declare

H a w k e s b u r y River a t R i c h m o n d : A n d whereas on the passing of t he said resolut ion a s t a tu to ry d u t y was by the said A c t imposed on the Secre tary for Pub l i c W o r k s to in t roduce a Bill in to t h e said Assembly

to sanct ion t he ca r ry ing out of t h e said work : Be i t therefore enacted
by the K i n g ' s Mos t Exce l l en t Majes ty , by a n d wi th t h e advice and
consent of t he Legislat ive Counci l a n d Legis la t ive Assembly of N e w
South W a l e s in Pa r l i amen t assembled, and by t h e au thor i ty of the
same, as follows :—
a n d deposited in t he publ ic office of t he said Secretary.
4 . The cost of c a r r y i n g o u t t h e said works , es t imated a t twen ty -

1.    This A c t m a y be cited as the " R i c h m o n d Bridge Act , 1902 . "

2 .    T h e ca r ry ing out of t h e work, more pa r t i cu la r ly described in

t he Schedule to th i s Ac t , is hereby sanc t ioned; and the Secretary for Pub l i c W o r k s , or t he member of t h e Execu t ive Council for t h e t ime be ing per forming t h e dut ies of t he said Secretary, is hereby author ised to u n d e r t a k e and car ry out t h e said work subject to t he provisions of

th i s Act , and for t h a t purpose shall be , and shal l have t h e powers and
dut ies of, a Cons t ruc t ing Au tho r i t y , w i th in t he m e a n i n g of t he Pub l i c
W o r k s Ac t , 1900.
3 . The p lan of t he said works is t h e p lan m a r k e d " R i c h m o n d
B r i d g e , " signed by t h e Secre tary for Pub l i c Works , and counters igned
b y t h e Commissioner and Pr inc ipa l Eng inee r for Roads and Bridges ,

two thousand pounds , m a y he defrayed from such Loan Votes as are now or m a y hereafter be appl icable to t h a t purpose , and shall n o t u n d e r any c i rcumstances exceed t h e es t imated cost by more t h a n t en

per c e n t u m .

S C H E D U L E .

Richmond Bridge.

1. The removal of the p resen t Richmond Br idge .
2. The cons t ruc t ion of a br idge and approaches adjoining and immediately

ups t r eam of t he exist ing bridge, consis t ing of a concre te a n d steel br idge , twen ty- four feet wide, with dock a t a height of twelve feet above the deck of exist ing bridge, subject

to such molif icat ions as may be considered desirable by t he Cons t ruc t ing Author i ty .
