Review of the classification rates at the C14 rate in modern awards – introductory rates – further steps at Commission’s initiative
The Commission has initiated a review of C14 Rates in certain modern awards. The background to this matter is set out in 3 Statements[1] issued by the President. Commissioner Hampton has conducted a conference with interested parties and subsequently provided a Report to a Full Bench which is available here.
The Commission will publish any response from the ABS about the data request referenced in the Report as soon as it is provided. Subject to further consideration of the Report, the Commission will also publish a background paper on the history of the relevant modern award provisions.
Further directions will be issued in light of the Report and any submissions provided by the parties concerning the approach set out in that Report.
The following directions are issued in conjunction with the Report:
1.Any submissions on the content, issues and proposed approach set out in the Report are to be provided by Monday 12 September 2022.
2.Submissions are to be provided to [email protected] .
3.Any material received will be published by the Commission on the relevant page on the Commission’s website.
