Retirement Villages Act 1999

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Retirement Villages Act 1999.

JOHN WATKINS, M.P., Minister for Fair Trading

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to replace, in the Retirement Villages Regulation 2000 (the Regulation), the Codes allocated by the Infringement Processing Bureau within the Police Service to offences under the Retirement Villages Act 1999 in respect of which penalty notices (“on-the-spot” fines) may be issued.

This Regulation also:

(a) replaces a reference in the Regulation to the “by-laws” of a community land scheme with a reference to the “management statement” of the scheme (which is a statement of the by-laws and other particulars governing participation in the scheme), and
(b) inserts a missing line and adds 2 further lines in a model statement of proposed expenditure set out in the Regulation.

This Regulation is made under the Retirement Villages Act 1999, including sections 20 (Copies of certain documents to be available), 112 (Statement of proposed expenditure), 184 (Penalty notices) and 203 (the general regulation-making power).
