RETAIL LEASES AMENDMENT ACT 1998 No 169—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Retail Leases Amendment Act 1998, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint l March 1999 as the day on which that Act commences, with the exception of the following provisions:

Schedule l [34]
Schedule 1 [49] to the extent that it inserts section 71A of the Retail Leases
Act 1994
Schedule 1 [51], [52] and [55]
Schedule 1 [56] to the extent that it inserts section 77 (2)–(7) of the Retail
Leases Act 1994
Schedule 2 item 2.1 [2] to the extent that it inserts clauses 3 (2) and 4 of Part

3B of Schedule 2 to the Administrative Decisions Tribunal Act 1997.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence all the amendments made by the

Retail Leases Amendment Act 1998 except those that relate to unconscionable conduct.
