Restraining Orders Amendment Regulations 2025

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Restraining Orders Amendment Regulations 2025.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

• (a)

  regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

• (b)

  the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Restraining Orders Regulations 1997.

4.Regulation 10 amended

• (1)

  Before regulation 10(1) insert:

   
• (1A)

  In this regulation —

custodial officer has the meaning given in the Young Offenders Act 1994 section 3;

prison officer has the meaning given in the Prisons Act 1981 section 3(1).

• (2)

  In regulation 10(1):

  • (a)

    after “by the registrar,” insert:

     

  a custodial officer,

   
  • (b)

    delete “(as defined in the Prisons Act 1981)”.

• (3)

  In regulation 10(2) delete “a police officer,” and insert:

   

a custodial officer, police officer,
