Residential Tenancy Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2011

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 .5 December 2011

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Residential Tenancy Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2011 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on 1 January 2012. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Residential Tenancy Regulations 2005 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 5 amended (Infringement notice offences and penalties) Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (5) . 5Schedule 2 amended (Infringement Notice Offences and Penalties) Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after item 7 the following item:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation) These regulations amend the

(a) prescribing the failure to pay a security deposit to specified persons as an infringement notice offence; and (b) effecting minor statute law revision.
