Residential Tenancies Amendment Regulations 2019

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2019 to update a form in relation to rent increases.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 511 of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 19 June 2019.

4Form 3—Notice of proposed rent increase to tenant of rented premises

In Form 3 of the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2019[1], for item 12 substitute

"12.Under a tenancy agreement entered into before 19 June 2019, the landlord cannot increase your rent more than once every 6 months. Under a tenancy agreement entered into on or after 19 June 2019, the landlord cannot increase your rent more than once every 12 months.".
