Residential Parks Act 1998 Residential Parks Amendment (Water Metering) Regulation 2000 (2000-105) [GG No 37 of 17.3.2000, p 1958] (NSW)
2000 No 105
| Residential Parks Amendment (Water | New South Wales |
Metering) Regulation 2000
under the
Residential Parks Act 1998
His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Residential Parks Act 1998.
JOHN WATKINS, M.P., Minister for Fair Trading
Explanatory note
Section 38 of the Residential Parks Act 1998 provides that the owner of a residential park and a resident of the park may agree that the resident will pay all water consumption charges in connection with the premises if, among other matters, the premises are individually metered in a manner that complies with the regulations.
However, section 38 does not apply to any water consumption charge incurred after 31 December 1999. From 1 January 2000, section 39 of the Act provides that it is a term of every residential tenancy agreement that the resident must pay all water consumption charges in connection with the residential premises if, among other matters, the premises are individually metered in a manner that complies with the regulations.
The Residential Parks Regulation 1999 prescribes the standards for water metering for the purposes of section 38 of the Act. The object of this Regulation is to prescribe those standards for the purposes of section 39 of the Act.
This Regulation is made under the Residential Parks Act 1998, including sections 39 and 155 (the general regulation-making power).
