1  Name of principle

This principle is the Residential Care Subsidy Amendment (Quality Agency) Principle 2013.

2  Commencement

This principle commences on 1 January 2014.

3  Authority

This principle is made under the Aged Care Act 1997.

4  Schedule(s)

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Residential Care Subsidy Principles 1997

1  Section 21.3

Insert:

Quality Agency means the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency.

2  Section 21.3 (note 2 at the end)

Repeal the note, substitute:

Note:       A number of expressions used in these Principles are defined in the Act, including the following:

(a)   accreditation requirement;

(b)     basic age pension amount;

(c)   dependent child;

(d)     lowest applicable classification level.

3  Section 21.3B

Omit “accreditation body” (wherever occurring), substitute “Quality Agency”.

4  Subsection 21.3B(1)

Omit “subsection 2.9 (2) of the Accreditation Grant Principles 2011”, substitute “subsection 2.2(2) of the Quality Agency Principles 2013”.

5  Subsection 21.3B(5)

Omit “subsection 2.10(1) of the Accreditation Grant Principles 2011”, substitute “subsection 2.3(1) of the Quality Agency Principles 2013”.
