Repeal of Electoral Regulations Postponement Act 2003

An Act to postpone the repeal of the Electoral Regulations 1985

[Royal Assent 15 December 2003]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Repeal of Electoral Regulations Postponement Act 2003 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Postponement of repeal (1)  The repeal of the Electoral Regulations 1985 that, but for this section, was to have been effected on 1 January 2004 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992 is postponed until 1 January 2005. (2)  Subsection (1) does not apply so as to prevent the repeal of the Electoral Regulations 1985 at any time before 1 January 2005. 4Administration of ActUntil provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990  – (a) the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Justice and Industrial Relations; and (b) the department responsible to that Minister in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Justice and Industrial Relations.
