Remuneration Tribunal (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973.

1.Commencement

1.1 These Regulations are taken to have commenced on 3 April 1993.

2.Amendment

2.1 The Remuneration Tribunal (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.Regulation 7 (Remuneration of certain persons holding more than one office)

3.1 Add at the end:

“(2)

For the purposes of subsection 7 (12) of the Act, a person who holds:

  • (a)

    the office of Chairperson of the Australian Electoral Commission; and

  • (b)

    judicial office in the service of a country other than Australia;

is entitled to be paid remuneration determined under the Act in respect of the office mentioned in paragraph (a) if the person receives no salary for service in an office mentioned in paragraph (b).”.
