1  Name

This instrument is the Remuneration Tribunal (Members of Parliament) Amendment Determination (No. 3) 2022.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

4  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Remuneration Tribunal (Members of Parliament) Determination 2022

1  Paragraphs 3.6 and 3.7

Repeal the clauses, substitute:

3.6A senator for the Northern Territory or a member of the House of Representatives for an electoral division the area of which is 300,000km2 or more is, upon request, to be provided with up to two private plated four-wheel-drive vehicles made available by the Commonwealth for the purposes of this clause in addition to any other vehicle provided in accordance with clause 3.1, 3.2 or 3.5.

3.7If one or more additional vehicles are provided then, despite anything else in this Determination, the cost of the lease, per annum, of the additional vehicle is to be applied in accordance with the following method:

a.first, to reduce one of the following amounts:

i.the amount applicable in subsection 14(1) of the PBR Regulations for the senator or member;

ii.the electorate allowance determined in clause 2.8 for the senator or member; and

b.if that amount is reduced to zero—to reduce the other amount.
