I, PHILIP MICHAEL JEFFERY, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973.

1Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Remuneration Tribunal (Members’ Fees and Allowances) Regulations 2004.

2Commencement

These Regulations commence on the date of their notification in the Gazette.

3Remuneration Tribunal (Members’ Fees and Allowances) Regulations 1974 — repeal

4Definitions

In these Regulations:

Act means the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973.

member means a member of the Tribunal.

Note The Act defines Tribunal to mean the Remuneration Tribunal.

5Fees

For section 12 of the Act, the following fees are prescribed:

  1. (a)

    for the President — $63 700 per year;

  2. (b)

    for other members — $30 800 per year.

6Allowances

For section 12 of the Act, the travelling allowances to which a Secretary of a Department is entitled for travel on official business within Australia and internationally, in accordance with a determination under section 61 of the Public Service Act 1999, are prescribed as allowances.
