Determination 2012/08

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office

(i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – FULL-TIME OFFICES

1.1       In this part, Determination Number 8 of 2011 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2 Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Chair, Tax Practitioners Board”:

1.8Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting Clause 2.2.1 under the Additional Provisions.

1.9       Clauses 1.5 to 1.8 take effect on and from 1 May 2012

1.10     Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Chief Executive Officer, Centrelink”:

1.11Clause 1.10 takes effect on and from 1 May 2012.

1.12Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “2.2.8” from Column 5 of the entry for “Member, ASIC”.

1.13Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting Clause 2.2.8 under the Additional Provisions.

1.14Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “$20,000” in Column 4 of the entry for “General Manager, Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL)”.

1.15Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the current wording in Clause 2.2.13 and replacing it with the following “Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) General Manager: Ms Joy Savage will receive a personal loading as shown in Column 4 of Table 2A from  11 October 2011 until 10 October 2012”.

1.16     Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Chief Executive Officer,  Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre”:

1.17Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting Clause 2.2.22 after Clause 2.2.21 as follows: “Parliamentary Budget Officer: The Parliamentary Budget Officer will receive an additional amount as shown in Column 4 for the first term of his or her office”.

1.18Table 2A of the principal Determination is amended by deleting the current entry for “Deputy Australian Building and Construction Commissioner” and replacing it with the following entry:

1.19Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting Clause 2.2.23 after Clause 2.2.22 as follows: “Deputy Australian Building and Construction Commissioner: Mr Brian Corney will receive a personal loading as shown in Column 4 of Table 2A from 11 July 2011 to 31 May 2012”.

1.20Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Chair, Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee”:

1.21Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following in Clause 2.2.1: “Fair Work Building Industry Inspectorate, Director: The Director will receive a base salary of $258,290 (salary for superannuation purposes) for 12 months from 1 June 2012”.

1.22     Clauses 1.20 to 1.21 take effect on and from 1 June 2012.

PART 2 – PART-TIME OFFICES

2.1In this part, Determination Number 9 of 2011 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2       Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting   “661” and “d” in Column 3 of the entry for “Medical Services Advisory Committee”.

2.3       Schedule B of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry under Clause B1.1 Professional Committees for “Medical Services Advisory Committee”.

2.4Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entries for the “ABC – Independent Complaints Review Panel”, “Tuggeranong Office Park Pty Limited (TOP)”, “Information Industries Board” and “Council of Business Regulation”.

2.5Table A2A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Clean Energy Regulator – Member”:

2.6      Part 2 of Table A2A of Schedule A is amended by inserting the following heading        under the table as follows ADDITIONAL CLAUSES TO TABLE A2A”:

2.7      Part 2 of Table A2A is amended by inserting Clause A2A–1 after the heading    Additional Clauses to Table A2A as follows “Independent Assessor – Special             Building Industry Powers: The base fee includes payment for the first 20 full days of work, in any given financial year, where a day is an aggregate of at least 7 hours,       after which a daily fee of $800 per day of work would apply”.

2.8      Clauses 2.5 to 2.7 take effect on and from 1 June 2012.
