Determination 2011/02:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office and Members of Parliament

(i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(1), 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to members of parliament and holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – FULL-TIME OFFICES

1.1       In this part, Determination Number 10 of 2010 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “2.2.8” in Column 5 of the entry for Examiner, Australian Crime Commission.

1.3Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting Clause 2.2.8 under Additional Provisions.

PART 2 – MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT – TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE

2.1In this part, Determination Number 9 of 2010 is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2Table 3A of Part 3 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the current table “Maximum Number of Overnight Stays Per Year” and replacing it with the Table below:

2.3The Table in clause 2.2 takes full effect from 10 March 2011.  From that date the maximum number of overnight stays in the Table is available in the current, as well as subsequent, financial years.
