Determination 2009/21:
Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office
(i) Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.
(ii) This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.
PART 1 – PART-TIME OFFICES
1.1 In this part, Determination Number 14 of 2009 is referred to as the Principal Determination.
1.2 Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the following entry: “ANSTO – Technical Advisory Committee”
1.3Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Council for the Australian Film Television and Radio School”:

1.4Clause 1.3 has effect on and from 14 October 2009.
1.5 Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by including the words “A1” in column 4 of the entry for “Civil Aviation Safety Authority Board (CASA)”.
1.6Clause 1.5 has effect on and from 1 October 2009.
1.7For the period 1 September 2009 – 30 September 2009 the Chair (of the Audit Committee of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority Board) will receive a pro rata fee of $12,910 per annum and the Member (of the Audit Committee of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority Board) will receive a pro rata fee of $6,455 per annum.
PART 2 – FULL-TIME OFFICES
2.1 In this part, Determination Number 18 of 2009 is referred to as the Principal Determination.
2.2Tables 3A and 3B of Part 3 of the Principal Determination are amended by deleting the entries for Mr G Samuel, Chairman, ACCC, and Ms S Court, Member, ACCC.
2.3Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the current wording “1 July 2008” in clauses 2.4 and 2.6.1 and replacing it with the following wording: “1 October 2009”.
PART 3 – JUDICIAL AND RELATED OFFICES
3.1 In this part, Determination Number 17 of 2009 is referred to as the Principal Determination.
3.2Table 1 of Part 4 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the current table “Table 1 – Rates of Remuneration – Judicial Offices” and replacing it with the following table:

(1) For part-time office holders a minimum annual payment of ten times the daily fee applies.
(2) A person appointed to this office before 10 December 1991 shall accrue recreation leave of six weeks per year of service.
(3) An expense of office allowance of $1,888 a year is payable to a sitting Judge who also holds this office on a part-time basis.
3.3Clause 3.2 has effect on and from 1 November 2009.
