Determination 2009/12:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office

(i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – PART-TIME OFFICES

1.1       In this part, Determination Number 7 of 2008 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2       The Principal Determination is amended by deleting clause “A15” in the Additional Clauses to Table A1A.

1.3Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry for the “National Broadband Network Co Ltd” and replacing it with the following entry:

PART 2 – FULL-TIME OFFICES

2.1       In this part, Determination Number 8 of 2008 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the current wording in clause 2.2.6 and replacing it with the following “2.2.6 Lieutenant General Ken J Gillespie will receive, from 1 July 2009, an additional amount of total remuneration of such an amount required to maintain his total remuneration at $346,430. Any entitlement to this additional amount is to cease at the time that the total remuneration for the Chief of Army office is equal to, or exceeds, $346,430.”

2.3Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “2.2.6” from Column 5 of the entry for “Vice Chief of the Defence Force.”

2.4       Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Administrator of the Northern Territory”:

2.5Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting Clause 2.2.13   after Clause 2.2.12 as follows: “Australian Solar Institute, Executive Director: will receive $211,000 base salary and $290,000 Total Remuneration until 31 August 2010.”

2.6Clauses 2.4 and 2.5 have effect on and from 1 September 2009.

2.7         Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the current        wording in clause 2.2.2 and replacing it with the following “ 2.2.2 HREOC             President: the Hon Catherine Branson will receive $187,530 base salary and    $256,880 Total Remuneration while she      occupies the office shown in Column 1.”
