Determination 2008/13:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office

(i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – PART-TIME OFFICES

1.1       In this part, Determination Number 7 of 2008 is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2       Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the following entries: “Australian Film Commission”; “Film Australia Limited”; “Film Finance Corporation Australia”; and “Life Insurance Actuarial Standards Board”.

1.3Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for the “Venture Capital Registration Board”:

1.4       The Principal Determination is amended by including Clause A40 in the Additional Clauses to Table A1A as follows “A40. Screen Australia: A member who is appointed as a Deputy Chair will receive $23,740 per annum.A member who is chair of the Audit Committee will receive an additional $7,740 per annum.  A member who is a member of the Audit Committee will receive an additional $3,870 per annum.

1.5         Clauses 1.3 to 1.4 have effect on and from 1 July 2008.

1.6Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Professional Standards Board for Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys”:

1.7The Principal Determination is amended by including Clause A41 in the Additional Clauses to Table A1A as follows “A41. National Film and Sound Archive: A member who is appointed as a Deputy Chair will receive $597 per day.”

1.8         Clauses 1.6 to 1.7 have effect on and from 1 July 2008.

1.9Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the following entry: “National Institute of Clinical Studies (NICS)”.

1.10     Clause B1.1 of Schedule B of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entries for the following Professional Committees: “Acute Care Advisory Committee”; “Australian Prescriber Executive Editorial Board”; and “Medical Services Review Tribunal”.

1.11Clause B1.1 of Schedule B of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entry for “Adverse Drug Reactions Advisory Subcommittee” with the following entry: “Adverse Drug Reactions Advisory Committee”.

1.12     Clause B1.1 of Schedule B of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entry for “Influenza Vaccine Committee” with the following entry “Australian Influenza Vaccine Committee”.  In addition, Clause B1.1 is amended by placing this amended entry after the entry in the same clause for the “Australian Health Information Council”.

1.13Table C1A of Schedule C of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entry for the “Australian Fisheries Management Authority” with the following entry:

1.14The Principal Determination is amended by replacing Clause C1 in Schedule C with the following text: “C1. Australian Fisheries Management Authority Commission: A member who is appointed as a Deputy Chair will receive $38,850 per annum.”

1.15      Clauses 1.13 to 1.14 have effect on and from 1 July 2008.

1.16Table C1A of Schedule C of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entry for the “Export Wheat Commission” with the following entry:

1.17      Clause 1.16 has effect on and from 1 July 2008.

PART 2 – FULL-TIME OFFICES

2.1       In this part, Determination Number 8 of 2008 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2       Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Member, ACMA”:

2.3The Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following clause after clause 2.2.6 in Part 2 as follows: “2.2.7 Australian Fisheries Management Authority Commission: Mr Glenn Hurry will receive a personal loading as shown in Column 4 of Table 2A while he occupies the office shown in Column 1.  The loading does not count towards superannuation salary.”

2.4       Clauses 2.2 to 2.3 have effect on and from 1 July 2008.

2.5Table 3A of Part 3 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Mr P Walker”:
