Determination 2007/18:
Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office and Members of Parliament
(i) Pursuant to subsections 7(1), 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.
(ii) This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.
PART 1 – PART-TIME OFFICES
1.1 In this part, Determination Number 10 of 2007 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
1.2Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting “,A40” alongside “A1” in Column 4 of the entry for “ASC Pty Ltd”.
1.3The Principal Determination is amended by including Clause A40 in the Additional Clauses to Table A1A as follows:
“A40. ASC Pty Ltd: A Member who is the Chair of the Business Assurance and Security (BAS) Committee will receive an additional $11,870 per annum. A Member who is member of the BAS Committee will receive an additional $5,935 per annum.”
1.4 Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for the “Superannuation Complaints Tribunal”:

1.9 Clause 1.8 has effect on and from 17 October 2007.
1.10 Table C1A of Schedule C of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry for the “Wheat Export Authority” and inserting the following entry before the entry for the “Australian Fisheries Management Authority Selection Committee”:

1.15Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for the “Australian National Council on Drugs”:

PART 2 –JUDICIAL AND RELATED OFFICES
2.1In this part, Determination Number 11 of 2007 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
2.2Table 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by omitting the entries ‘$247,600’ and ‘$1,140’ in Columns 3 and 4 for the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Deputy President, and substituting the entries ‘$265,000’ and ‘$1,221’ in Columns 3 and 4 respectively.
2.3Clause 2.2 has effect on and from 28 August 2007.
PART 3 –FULL-TIME OFFICES
3.1 In this part, Determination Number 13 of 2007 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
3.2 Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Chairperson, Commonwealth Grants Commission”:

3.6 Clause 3.1.5 (Professional Services Review) of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the reference to “30 September 2007” and replacing it with “13 February 2008”.
3.7 Clause 3.6 has effect on and from 1 October 2007.
3.8Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entry for the “Deputy Principal Member, Refugee Review Tribunal” with the following entry:

3.9The Principal Determination is amended by inserting clause 2.2.5 after 2.2.4 as follows:
“2.2.5 Refugee Review Tribunal and Migration Review Tribunal: Ms Mary Urquhart will receive a personal loading as shown in Column 4 of Table 2A while she occupies the office shown in Column 1 and also acts as a Senior Member of the Migration Review Tribunal.”
3.10 Clauses 3.8 and 3.9 have effect on and from 3 September 2007.
3.11 Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current entries for “Chairperson, Superannuation Complaints Tribunal” and “Deputy Chairperson, Superannuation Complaints Tribunal” with the following entries:

PART 4 – MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT
4.1In this part, Determination Number 18 of 2006 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
4.2Clause 10(4) of the Principal Determination is amended by omitting the current subclause 10(4)(b) and substituting the following immediately after subclause 10(4)(a):
(b) where an electorate comes into existence after the last working day in March of a calendar year, until 30 June of the following year the member is entitled to a maximum allowance per annum based on the number of enrolled voters within the electoral boundaries for the member’s electorate as at the close of the electoral roll for the last general election, multiplied by fifty cents; and
(c) senators are entitled to a maximum allowance of $27,500 per annum.
