Determination 2007/06:

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office

(i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – PART-TIME OFFICES

1.1       In this part, Determination Number 12 of 2006 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2       Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry for “Casino Surveillance Authority of Christmas Island”.

1.3       Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the entry for “Australian Fair Pay Commission” with the following entry:

1.4Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting Clause A38 from the part entitled “Additional Clauses to Table A1A”.

1.5Clauses 1.3 and 1.4 have effect on and from 21 March 2007.

1.6       Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation”:

1.8       Clause 1.7 has effect on and from 1 July 2007.

PART 2 – FULL-TIME OFFICES

2.1In this part, Determination Number 13 of 2006 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the entry for “Commissioner for Complaints” with the following entry:

2.3Clause 2.2 has effect on and from 1 May 2007.

2.4Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the entry for “Official Secretary to the Governor-General” with the following entry:

2.5Clause 2.4 has effect on and from 12 May 2006.

2.6     Clause 2.2.5 (Classification Board) of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current wording with “Mr Des Clark will continue to receive $173,930 Base Salary and $245,000 Total Remuneration while he occupies the office of Director.  In addition, a person who occupies or acts in the office of Director between 16 April 2007 and 30 June 2007 will receive $173,930 Base Salary and $245,000 Total Remuneration.  Mr Paul Hunt will continue to receive $142,630 Base Salary and $206,490 Total Remuneration while he occupies the office of Deputy Director.”

2.7Tables 3A - Accommodation Allowances and 3B – Reunion Travel of the Principal Determination are amended by removing the entries for Mr S Somogyi, Member, APRA.

2.8     Table 2A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Chairperson, Indigenous Land Corporation”:
