Determination 2007/01

Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office

(i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.

PART 1 – PART-TIME OFFICES

1.1       In this part, Determination Number 12 of 2006 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

1.2       Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by including the entry “A39” in Column 4 for “Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ)”.

1.3       The Principal Determination is amended by including Clause A39 in the Additional Clauses to Table A1A as follows:

“FSANZ:A Member who is the Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Management (FARM) Committee will receive an additional $7,120 per annum. A Member who is member of the FARM Committee will receive an additional $3,560 per annum.”

Clauses 1.2 and 1.3 take effect on and from 28 November 2006.



1.5Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by including the following entry after the entry entitled Public Lending Right Committee:

Defence Reserves Support Council (DRSC) 20,000 a 17,000 a A40 2

1.6The Principal Determination is amended by including Clause A40 in the Additional Clauses to Table A1A as follows:

A40. DRSC:  A Member who is a State/Territory Chair of the DRSC will receive $375 per day and is entitled to Tier 2 Travel.

1.7      Clauses 1.5 and 1.6 take effect on and from 28 November 2006.

PART 2 – FULL TIME OFFICES

2.1In this part, Determination Number 13 of 2006 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

2.2Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by omitting the current entries  for ‘Director General, Australian Safeguards and Non-Proliferation Office’ and substituting the following:

2.3

Clause 2.2 takes effect on and from 25 October 2006.



2.4Table 3A – Accommodation Allowances, and Table 3B – Reunion Travel, of the Principal Determination are amended by removing the entries for Mr E Willett, Member, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

PART 3 – JUDICIAL-RELATED OFFICES

3.1In this part, Determination Number 10 of 2006 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.

3.2Clause 3.3 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the current wording with the following:

Australian Military Court: The employer may approve housing, relocation and medical assistance in accordance with agency policy and practices for the offices of Chief Judge Advocate, Chief Military Judge, Military Judge and the Registrar of the Australian Military Court.”

3.3Clause 5.5 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the second dot point with the following:

“in the case of the holders of the offices of Chief Judge Advocate, Chief Military Judge, Military Judge and Registrar of the Australian Military Court, that office holder’s annual rate of salary for the purposes of the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits Act 1973, the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits (Annual Rate of Pay) Regulations, the Military Superannuation and Benefits Scheme Act 1991 and the Rules of the Military Superannuation and Benefits Scheme.”

3.4Table 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry:
