REMUNERATION TRIBUNAL

Determination 2004/19:
Official Travel by Office Holders and Members of Parliament

(i)

Pursuant to subsections 5(2A), 7(1), 7(2), 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to various public office holders, offices in the Principal Executive Structure and members of Parliament, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.

(ii)

This Determination takes effect on and from 29 August 2004.

PART 1 TRAVEL ALLOWANCE -  OFFICE HOLDERS
1.1 In this part, Determination Number 3 of 2004 is referred to as the Principal Determination.
1.2 The Principal Determination is amended by deleting Schedule A and substituting the Schedule contained in Attachment A to this Determination.
PART 2 TRAVEL ALLOWANCE – MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT
2.1 In this part, Determination Number 5 of 2004 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
2.2 Part 1 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting clause 1.1 and accompanying Table 1A – Travel Allowance rates for specified & non-specified Members of Parliament – and inserting clause 1.1 and Table 1A contained in Attachment B to this Determination.
2.3 Part 1 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting clause 1.4, and renumbering clause 1.5 as clause 1.4.
2.4 Part 2, clause 2.5 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting “$470” twice occurring and replacing them with “$495”.
2.5 Part 2, clause 2.17 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the words “at the other than capital city rate” and replacing them with “as specified”.

REMUNERATION TRIBUNAL TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE RATES

A1.  Travelling Allowance Rates:  The Travelling Allowance rates set out in Table A1.A will apply on and from 29 August 2004, in accordance with the provisions of Part 3 (Travel Expenses) of this Determination.

1.1    Subject to this determination, the rates in Table 1A shall apply in respect of each overnight stay in commercial accommodation with effect on and from 29 August 2004.
