Remuneration Tribunal (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 1995

An Act to amend certain laws and to make certain transitional arrangements in consequence of the enactment of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1995

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

Short title

1.  This Act may be cited as the Remuneration Tribunal (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 1995.

Commencement

2.  This Act commences on the day fixed for the purposes of subsection 2 (2) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1995.

Continuation of previous determinations

3.  (1)  In this section—

“commencement day” means the day fixed for the purposes of subsection 2 (2) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1995;

“Commonwealth Remuneration Tribunal” means the tribunal established by subsection 4 (1) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973 of the Commonwealth.

(2) Where, immediately before the commencement day, a determination of the Commonwealth Remuneration Tribunal applied to a person referred to in section 9 or 10 of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1995, that person shall continue to be entitled to be paid remuneration and allowances, and to be granted other entitlements, in accordance with that determination until a determination is made under that Act in respect of the remuneration, allowances and entitlements of the person.

4.  The Acts specified in the Schedule are amended as set out in the Schedule.
