(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Remuneration and Allowances Act 1973.

The Remuneration and Allowances Regulations are amended by adding at the end thereof the following regulation:

"(2) This regulation shall come into operation on 1 August 1983.".

Remuneration of officer appointed Administrator of Christmas Island

"19. (1) Where a person appointed to hold the office of Administrator of the Territory of Christmas Island was, immediately before his appointment, an officer of the Australian Public Service occupying an office of First Assistant Secretary in the Department of Territories and Local Government, he shall be paid, during the period of his appointment (including any period of re-appointment) to the office of Administrator of the Territory of Christmas Island, in lieu of the remuneration and annual allowance (if any) payable in respect of that office, remuneration and allowance at the rate per annum applicable to an officer of the Australian Public Service occupying an office classified as Level 3 in the Second Division.
