REGULATION UNDER THE REMUNERATION AND ALLOWANCES ACT 1973*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Remuneration and Allowances Act 1973.

AMENDMENT OF THE REMUNERATION AND ALLOWANCES REGULATIONS 

After regulation 2a of the Remuneration and Allowances Regulations the following regulations are inserted:

Remuneration and annual allowance of unattached officer appointed as Vice-Chairman of the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal

“ 2b. (1) Where a person appointed to hold the office of Vice-Chairman of the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal was, immediately before his appointment, an unattached officer included in the First Division of the Australian Public Service, he shall be paid, during the period of his appointment (including any period of re-appointment) to the office of Vice-Chairman of the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal, in lieu of the remuneration and annual allowance (if any) payable in respect of that office—

(a) remuneration at the rate per annum applicable to the office of Secretary to the Department of Science; and

(b) an annual allowance at the rate of $1,136.30 per annum.

“ (2) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 1977.

Remuneration and annual allowance of unattached officer appointed as Deputy Chairman of the Prices Justification Tribunal

“ 2c. (1) Where a person appointed to hold the office of Deputy Chairman of the Prices Justification Tribunal was, immediately before his appointment, an unattached officer included in the First Division of the Australian Public Service, he shall be paid, during the period of his appointment (including any period of re-appointment) to the office of Deputy Chairman of the Prices Justification Tribunal, in lieu of the remuneration and annual allowance (if any) payable in respect of that office—

(a) remuneration at the rate per annum applicable to the office of Secretary to the Department of Science; and

(b) an annual allowance at the rate of $583.56 per annum.

“ (2) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on 4 April 1977.”.
