Crown mentioned in the Scheclules annesed to this Act, and to

make othcr provisions with regard to such leoses-Bc it therefore Enacted, by the Gorcmor of the Province of South Australia, with the advice aid consent of the Legislative Council and House of

leases of the Crown mentioned in the First and Second Schedules to this Act annexed, where such remission shall be requested by any lessees thereunder, or the assigns of such lessees, on or before the thirty-first clay of f ~ecembel; one thousand eight hundred and seventy, by written application to the Commissioner of Cmm Lands and

Immigration of the said Province for the time being, setting forth

the intention of mch lesscca to devclopo the lands comprised in any

mid, and in lu?spect of which ~ e n t shall be in arrear and unpaid, shall, on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, become absolutely determined and forfeited to the Crown.

3, The lessees of the leases mentioned in the said Schedules, ox

the assigns of the said lessees respectively, may, by memorial to the Governol; apply to bc permitted to surrender their present leases and to obtain the benefit of the provisions of Thc Mineral Leases Act, 1867 :" Provided that such memorial be lodged in the office of the said Commissioner on or before the thirty-first clay of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy; and it shall be lawful for the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, to grant such application, or some modification thereof, and to iix the term of the nov lease or rcfuse the same, as may appear neces- sary and expedient.
