4 Regulatory Reform Amendment The Parliament of Queensland enacts— No. 53, 1993 ˙ Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Regulatory Reform Amendment Act 1993 . ˙ Amended Act 2. The Regulatory Reform Act 1986 is amended as set out in this Act. ˙ Amendment of s.3 (Interpretation) 3.(1) Section 3 (heading)— omit, insert— ‘Definition’. (2) Section 3 (definition “Minister” )— omit. (3) Section 3 (definition “subordinate legislation” )— omit ‘ Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Commission ’, insert ‘ Industrial Relations Commission ’. ˙ Amendment of s.4 (Application of Act) 4. Section 4(2)(c)— omit all words from ‘ Order ’ to ‘ Minister ’, insert ‘ regulation ’. ˙ Amendment of s.5 (Expiration of subordinate legislation) 5.(1) Section 5(1)— omit, insert— ‘5.(1) Subordinate legislation expires on the 7th anniversary of the day on which it is made unless—

5 Regulatory Reform Amendment No. 53, 1993 (a) it is sooner repealed; or (b) a regulation is made about it under section 6. ’. (2) Section 5(2)— omit. ˙ Insertion of new s.6 6. After section 5— insert— ˙ ‘Continuation of subordinate legislation due to expire ‘6. The Governor in Council may, by regulation, defer the expiry of subordinate legislation under section 5 for a specified period. ’. ˙ Amendment of s.6 (Revival of subordinate legislation) 7.(1) Section 6— renumber as section 7. (2) Section 6(1)— omit ‘ , upon the advice of the Minister, ’. (3) Section 6(1)— omit ‘ Proclamation ’, insert ‘ regulation ’. ˙ Replacement of ss.7 and 8 8. Sections 7 and 8— omit, insert— ˙ ‘Regulations ‘8. The Governor in Council may make regulations for the purposes of this Act. ˙ ‘Expiry of Act ‘8A. This Act expires on 31 December 1994. ’.
