REGULATORY REDUCTION ACT 1996 NO 107—
PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Regulatory Reduction Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)

7 February 1997 as the day on which sections 1,2,3 and 4 of that Act, and Schedules 1.3, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 2.3, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 and 2.15 to that Act, commence, and

(b)

28 February 1997 as the day on which Schedules 1.5 and 2.5 to that Act commence, and

(c)

1 July 1997 as the day on which Schedules 1.6 and 2.6 to that Act commence.

Regulatory Reduction Act 1996 No 107—Proclamation

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this proclamation is to commence certain provisions of the Regulatory

Reduction Act 1996.

The provisions commenced amend the following Acts and Regulations for the purposes of reducing the level of regulation in New South Wales by abolishing certain licensing schemes and other requirements:

Commercial Vessels Act 1979

Commercial Vessels (Certificates of Competency and Safety Manning)
Regulation 1986

Dairy Industry Act 1979

Dairy Industry Regulation 1995

Dried Fruits Act 1939

Dried Fruits (General) Regulation 1993

Engine Drivers and Boiler Attendants Certification Regulations

Management of Waters and Waterside Lands Regulations—N.S.W.

Motor Vehicle Repairs Act 1980

Motor Vehicle Repairs Regulation 1982

Motor Vehicle Sports (Public Safety) Act 1985

Motor Vehicle Sports (Public Safety) Regulation 1994

Occupational Health and Safety Act 1983

Occupational Health and Safety (Asbestos Removal Work) Regulation 1996

Occupational Health and Safety (Administration) Regulation 1992

Water Traffic Regulations—N.S.W.

This proclamation is made under section 2 of the Act.
