Regulations under the Scaffolding and Lifts Act, 1912 of the State of New South Wales in their application to the Territory

I, GORDON GLEN DENTON SCHOLES, the Minister of State for Territories, hereby make the following Regulations under the Scaffolding and Lifts Ordinance 1957.

Principal Regulations

1.  In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Regulations under the Scaffolding and Lifts Act, 1912 of the State of New South Wales in their application to the Territory.

Tunnelling

2.  Regulation 100 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from paragraph 28 (b) all the words after “every” and substituting “8 men employed on the same shift and one for every 8 women employed on the same shift, and one for any number less than 8 such men or such women, as the case requires; and”; and

(b)by omitting from paragraph 28 (c) all the words after “every” and substituting “10 men employed on the same shift and one for every 10 women employed on the same shift, and one for any number less than 10 such men or such women, as the case requires.”.

Caissons

3.  Regulation 101 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from paragraph 26 (b) all the words after “every” and substituting “8 men employed on the same shift and one for every 8 women employed on the same shift, and one for any number less than 8 such men or such women, as the case requires; and”; and

(b)by omitting from paragraph 26 (c) all the words after “every” and substituting “10 men employed on the same shift and one for every 10 women employed on the same shift, and one for any number less than 10 such men or such women, as the case requires.”.

Sanitary conveniences and washing facilities

4.  Regulation 121 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from paragraph (2) (a) all the words after “than” and substituting “10 men employed at the one time and one for every 10 women employed at the one time, and one for any number less than 10 such men or such women, as the case requires.”; and

(b)by inserting in paragraph (2) (b) “or women” after “men”.
