An Act, for the Regulation of Coasting Vessels and Cargo and. other Boats entering the Ports and Harbours of this Colony.

[Assented to 16th January, 1871.

HEREAS it is expedient to enable the Harbour Masters to Preamble

Wother boats in any of the ports or harbours in this Colony : Be it there-direct the movements of coasting vessels and of cargo and

fore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council thereof, as follows :—

1. That the Harbour Master or his deputy is hereby empowered, Harbour Master

whenever it appears necessary to such Harbour Master or deputy, to =1„torage

appoint the place of moorage or anchorage of all coasting vessels, cargo for vessels

and other boats entering any of the ports or harbours in this Colony,

and from time to time, when necessary, to direct the removal of any

such coasting vessel, cargo or other boat therefrom to some other place

of moorage or anchorage.

2. That no coasting vessel or cargo or other boats shall moor or No Coasting

3. That any master or person in charge of any such coasting ,‘,v,ItsisrLt Per-

tion of this Act, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty

pounds. And any person who shall oppose or obstruct the Harbour

Master or his deputy in the performance of any duty imposed by this

Act shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds.
