REGISTRATION OF INTERESTS IN GOODS ACT 1986 -
REGULATION
(To give effect to arrangements made with the Northern
Territory in relation to interests in goods)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Registration of Interests in Goods Act 1986, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 10 March 1990.
Amendment
2. The Registration of Interests in Goods Regulation 1986 is
amended by inserting after Part 4 the following Part:
PART 5 - PARTICIPATING STATES
Northern Territory to be participating State
11. The Northern Territory is a Territory prescribed for the purposes of the definition of "participating State" in section 3 (1) of the Act.

Corresponding provisions
12. (1) In this clause:
"Northern Territory Act" means the Registration of Interests inMotor Vehicles and Other Goods Act 1989 of the Northern
Territory;
"Principal Act" means the Registration of Interests in Goods Act
1986.
(2) Section 13 of the Northern Territory Act is a prescribed provision for the purposes of sections 12 (2) (b), 13 (c) and 14 (1) of the Principal Act.
(3) Section 14 of the Northern Territory Act is a prescribed
provision for the purposes of section 14 (2) of the Principal Act.
(4) Sections 16 and 17 of the Northern Territory Act are prescribed provisions for the purposes of section 15 (3) (b) of the Principal Act.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to give effect to arrangements made between New South Wales and the Northern Territory for the registration in New South Wales of interests in goods arising under the law of the Territory, and for related matters.
