REGISTRATION OF INTERESTS IN GOODS ACT 1986 -

REGULATION

(Authorising the release of information about inaccurate odometers)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Registration of Interests in Goods Act 1986, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 14 September 1990.

Amendment

2. The Registration of Interests in Goods Regulation 1986 is

amended by inserting after clause 5 (2) (c) the following paragraph:

(d)

information received by the Commissioner that the odometer of a motor vehicle has been interfered with so that the reading of the odometer is incorrect.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Registration of Interests in Goods

Regulation 1986 to enable the Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, if the Commissioner receives information that a vehicle odometer has been tampered with,
to alert persons inquiring about the vehicle to that fact.
