AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages

Ordinance 1963

I, T H E GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

REGISTRATION O F BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES

(AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1977

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Registration of Births,
Deaths and Marriages (Amendment) Ordinance 1977.*

2 . In this Ordinance, " Principal Ordinance " means the Registra­ tion of Births, Deaths and Marriages Ordinance 1963.f

t Ordinance N o . 17, 1963 as amended by N o . 19, 1966; N o . 47, 1974; N o . 29, 1975; and N o . 18, 1977.

3 . This Ordinance shall come into operation on 3 October 1977.

4. Section 22 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) the symbol and figure " $2 " and substituting the symbol and figure " $3 ".

5.   Section 56 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)

by omitting from sub-section (4) the words "Two dollars" and substituting the symbol and figure " $ 4 " ; and

(b)

by omitting from sub-section (7) the words " Fifty cents " and substituting the symbol and figure " $3 ".

6. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Ordinance is repealed and

the following schedule substituted:—
