An Act to amen(i the Hegistration of Births Deaths and Marriages Act 1899, the Marriage Act, 1899, and certain other Acts, in certain respects; to remove doubts as to the validity of certain m atters; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assent­ ed to, 21st May, 1948.]

T )E it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, f l by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the “ Eegistration of

Births, Deaths, and INfarriages (Amendment) Act, 1948” .

“ District registrar” means and shall be deemed always to have meant any district registrar, deputy district registrar, or assistant district registrar.

(2) The Marriage Act, 1899, as amended by subse­ quent Acts and by this section, may be cited as the Marriage Act, 1899-1948.
