declare that it wasF expi'ilicmt to carry out a certain vork, namely, the completion of ollice accommodation tor tluv Registrar-General at Chancery-square : And whereas, on tlu' passing of the said n>solution, a statutory duty was by the said Act imposed on the Secretary tor Public Works to introduce a Rill into the said Assembly to sanction the cai’rying out ot the said work : R(> it therefore enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Kew South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
1 . This Act mav be cited as the “ Registrar-General’s OtTices short titio.

2. The carrying out of the works, more particularly described WorU siuirtioiicJ.
in the Schedule to this Act, is liercby sanctioned, and tlu( Secretary for Public AVorks, or the member of the Executive Council f(U’ the time being performing tlu' duties of the said Secretary, is hereby authorised to undertake and carry out the said works, subject to the provisions of this Act, and for that purpose shall be and shall have the powers and duties of a Constructing Authority Avithin the meaning of the Public AYorks Act, 1900.
3. The plan of tlic said works is the plan marked “ Pvegistrar- I’lan uf work.
General’s l)e 2)artment Xew Ofiic('s,” signed by tlu'Secretary for Public AÂ orks, and count('rsigncd by the Government Architect, and deposited in the public office of the said Secretary.
4 . The cost of carrying out the said Avorks, estimated at Cost, .and how

applicable to that purpose, or from appropriations of the Public AVorks P'uud, or partly from such votes and ])artly from the said appropriations, and shall not under any circumstances exceed the estimated cost by more than ten per centum.

Tlie building is rectangular in plan, with an inner court-yard, and consi.sts of hasemont, ground, first, and second Moors, the main central block, facing the south, having a third Moor.
'Three ('iitrances will he pro\ ided one on the .southern side, fronting (lollege- s t r e e t ; one facing Queen’s-sc|uare ; and one in the northern facade, facing the proposed new road.
The construction of the building throughout is of a flre-proof character.
