(Drinking Water) Regulation 2004

Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Registered Clubs Act 1976.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to require drinking water to be made available free of charge to patrons of registered clubs.

This Regulation is made under the Registered Clubs Act 1976, including sections 9A (6) and 73 (the general regulation-making power).

Regulation 2004

Registered Clubs Act 1976

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Registered Clubs Amendment (Drinking

Water) Regulation 2004.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 August 2004.

3 Amendment of Registered Clubs Regulation 1996

The Registered Clubs Regulation 1996 is amended as set out in
Schedule 1.

Schedule 1 Amendment

(Clause 3)

Clause 50B

Omit the clause. Insert instead:

50B Drinking water to be available free of charge where liquor
served

The certificate of registration of a club is subject to a condition that drinking water must, at all times while liquor is sold or supplied on the premises of the club, be available free of charge to patrons at or near the point of service at which, or by the same means of service by which, liquor is sold or supplied on the premises.
