I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Registered Clubs (Amendment) Act 1994, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1994 as the day on which that Act commences (except section 4 of that Act and items (15)–(17) and (20) of Schedule 1 to that Act and section 3 of that Act in its application to those items in Schedule 1).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the Registered Clubs (Amendment)

Act 1994, except for the following provisions of that Act:

• amendments to the Registered Clubs Act 1976 relating to penalty notices and access by members to poker machines

• an amendment to the Justices Act 1902 bringing penalty notices issued under the Registered Clubs Act 1976 within the enforcement scheme of the Justices Act 1902.
