REGISTERED CLUBS ACT 1976—REGULATION
(Relating to proof of age)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Registered Clubs Act 1976, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 1 March 1996.
Amendments
2. The Registered Clubs Regulation 1983 is amended:
(a)
by omitting clause 28 (c) and by inserting instead the following paragraph:
(c)
a passport held by a person, being a passport issued by the Commonwealth or under the law of some other country,
| (b) | by inserting in clause 28 after the words “above that age” the words “and only if the document has not expired and otherwise appears to be in force”. |
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The objects of this Regulation are:
(a)
to limit the various forms of evidence that are listed in a provision of the Registered Clubs Regulation 1983 as acceptable evidence that a person is over l8 (drivers/riders licences and permits, passports and proof of age cards) to those that have both not expired and otherwise appear to be in force; and

(b)
to delete an obsolete reference in that provision to a Commonwealth Department as the Department that issues passports.
This Regulation is made under sections 57 (Evidence of age) and 73 (the general
regulation making power) of the Registered Clubs Act 1976.
