His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Registered Clubs Act 1976.

Explanatory note

Part 11 of the Registered Clubs Act 1976 deals with poker machines in registered clubs and provides for the granting of gaming-related licences. The Liquor and Registered Clubs Legislation Amendment Act 2000 creates a new type of gaming- related licence: a poker machine testing facility licence.

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the fee required to be lodged with an application for a poker machine testing facility licence, the fee payable for the grant of such a licence and the periodic fee payable for such a licence.

This Regulation is made under the Registered Clubs Act 1976, as amended by the Liquor and Registered Clubs Legislation Amendment Act 2000, including section 103 (Issue of gaming-related licence), section 105 (Periodic fee for gaming-related licence) and section 73 (the general regulation-making power).

1     Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Registered Clubs Amendment (Miscellaneous)

Regulation 2000.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 September 2000.

3 Amendment of Registered Clubs Regulation 1996

The Registered Clubs Regulation 1996 is amended as set out in

Schedule 1.

4 Notes

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

[1]     Clause 3 Definitions

[2]     Clause 35 Fees for the grant of licences

Insert after clause 35 (1) (d):

(e) for the grant of a poker machine testing facility licence—$450.

[3]     Clause 37 Amount of periodic licence fees

Insert after clause 37 (d):

(e) for a poker machine testing facility licence—$500.
