Regional Development Victoria Regulations 2015

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe—

(a)geographical areas to be included in a reference to rural and regional Victoria in the Regional Development Victoria Act 2002; and

(b)the circumstances in which the prescribed geographical areas are to be included in a reference to rural and regional Victoria in the Regional Development Victoria Act 2002.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 19 of the Regional Development Victoria Act 2002.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2015.

4Definition

In these Regulations—

the Act means the Regional Development Victoria Act 2002.

5Prescribed geographical area—natural gas network

For the purposes of section 3(2) of the Act, a reference to rural and regional Victoria includes the municipal district of each Council specified in an item in Schedule 1 in circumstances where the term rural and regional Victoria is applied in relation to the funding of upgrades to, or the expansion of, the natural gas network in rural and regional Victoria.

6Prescribed geographical area—bushfire readiness

For the purposes of section 3(2) of the Act, a reference to rural and regional Victoria includes the municipal district of each Council specified in an item in Schedule 2 in circumstances where the term rural and regional Victoria is applied in relation to the funding of projects to improve the bushfire readiness of Victorian communities.

The Regional Development Victoria Regulations 2015, S.R. No. 83/2015 were made on 30 June 2015 by the Governor in Council under section 19 of the Regional Development Victoria Act 2002, No. 53/2002 and came into operation on 1 July 2015: regulation 3.

The Regional Development Victoria Regulations 2015 will sunset 10 years after the day of making on 30 June 2025 (see section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994).
