An Act to modify the application of
section 16 of the Referendum (Constitution Alteration) Act 1906.

IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and House of Representatives of the
Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short title.
1.
This Act may be cited as the Referendum (Constitution Alteration)
Modification Act 1977.
Commencement.
2.
This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal
Assent.
Use of
ballot-boxes and polling booths.
3.
Section 16 of the Referendum (Constitution Alteration) Act 1906has
effect as if a reference in that section to an election included a reference to
a poll conducted by the Chief Australian Electoral Officer within 3 months
after the commencement of this Act for the purpose of choosing the tune for a
national song.
