Real Property (Amendment) Act 1992

An Act to amend the Real Property Act 1925

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

Short title

1.  This Act may be cited as the Real Property (Amendment) Act 1992.

Commencement

2.  (1)  Sections 1, 2 and 3 commence on the day on which this Act is notified in the Gazette.

(2) The remaining provisions commence on the day on which the provisions referred to in subsection 2 (2) of the Surveyors (Amendment) Act 1992 commence.

Principal Act

3.  In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Real Property Act 1925.1

Registrar may require map to be deposited

4.  Section 64 of the Principal Act is amended—

(a)by omitting from subsection (6) “Surveyor-General for Australia” and substituting “Chief Surveyor”; and

(b)by adding at the end the following subsection:

“(9)  In subsection (6)—

‘Chief Surveyor’ means the Chief Surveyor appointed under the Surveyors Act 1967.”.
