Real Property (Amendment) Ordinance 1987

An Ordinance to amend the Real Property Ordinance 1925

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Real Property (Amendment) Ordinance 1987.1

Commencement

2. 

This Ordinance shall be deemed to have come into operation on

1 August 1987.

Instruments not to be registered

3.  Section 51 of the Real Property Ordinance 19252 is amended:

(a)by inserting in paragraph (2) (a) “and before 1 August 1987” after “1969”;

(b)by omitting from paragraph (2) (b) “the date of commencement of the Real Property (Amendment) Ordinance 1985” and substituting “1 January 1986 and before 1 September 1987”;

(c)by omitting from paragraph (2) (ba) “the date of commencement of the Real Property (Amendment) Ordinance (No. 3) 1986” and substituting “1 January 1987 and before 1 August 1987”; and

(d)by adding at the end the following subsection:

“(3)  The Registrar shall not register an instrument of a kind referred to in paragraph 17 (a), (b), (c) or (d) of the Stamp Duties and Taxes Ordinance 1987 unless the instrument has been duly stamped within the meaning of that Ordinance.”.
