Real Property (Amendment) Ordinance 1986

An Ordinance to amend the Real Property Ordinance 1925

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Real Property (Amendment) Ordinance 1986.¹

Commencement

2.  This Ordinance shall come into operation on such date as is fixed by the Minister of State for Territories by notice in the Gazette.

Principal Ordinance

3.  In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Real Property Ordinance 1925.²

Variation of purposes for which land may be used

4.  Section 72A of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting in sub-section (1) “, on payment of the determined fee,” after “the Minister may”.

Power of Minister to determine fees

5.  Section 139 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)by omitting from sub-section (1) “, being fees relating to any matter specified in Column 2 of an item in Schedule 18,”; and

(b)by omitting from sub-sections (2) and (3) “relating to” and substituting “determined in relation to”.

Payment of certain fees to Registrar

6.  Section 142 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting “with respect to a matter specified in Schedule 18” after “this Ordinance”.
