Re-establishment and Employment

(Allowances and Loans) Regulations2

(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Re-establishment and Employment Act 1945.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Re-establishment and Employment (Allowances and Loans) Regulations.

Interpretation

2. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting the definition of “Deputy Commissioner”; and

(b) by omitting “appointed under the Australian Soldiers’ Repatriation Act 1920-1945” from the definition of “the Commission”.

Applications

3. Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “a Deputy Commissioner” and substituting “the Commission”.

Inspection of property, &c.

4. Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “a Deputy Commissioner” and substituting “the Commission”.

Improper use of gifts or loans

5. Regulation 9 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “a Deputy Commissioner” and substituting “the Commission”.

Power of Commission to require information

6. Regulation 11 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-section (1) “a Deputy Commissioner” and substituting “the Commission”.

Evidence of liability under security

7. Regulation 19 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “Deputy Commissioner for the State in which the proceedings are brought,” and substituting “Commission,”.

Register to be kept in office of Commissioner

8. Regulation 32 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “Deputy Commissioner for” and substituting “Commission in”.
