Rates (Amendment) Ordinance 1983

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

An Ordinance to amend the Rates Ordinance 1926

Short title

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Rates (Amendment) Ordinance

1983}

Principal Ordinance

1926.1 2. In this Ordinance, "Principal Ordinance" means the Rates Ordinance

Interpretation

Paragraph 12 (a) . . . Omit "to the Department of the Interior".
Section 25 Omit", Department of the Interior".
Sub-section 29 (1) . . . Omit "thirty", substitute "60".
Omit "to the Department of the Interior".

3. Section 4 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting after the

definition of "rates" in sub-section (1) the following definition:

" 'Secretary' means the person for the time being occupying, or acting in, the office the holder of which is, under the Public Service Act 1922, the Permanent Head of the Department administered by the Minister;".
