AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Rates Ordinance 1926-1970

ITHE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government

, Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council,

(Administration) Act 1910-1970.

RATES ORDINANCE 1971

1.—(1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Rates Ordinance

1971.*

(2. ) The Rates Ordinance 1926-1970f is in this Ordinance referred

to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may

be cited as the Rates Ordinance 1926-1971.

Nos . 25 and 35, 1938; N o . 5, 1950; N o . 21, 1959; N o . 5, 1967; and N o . 47, 1970.

2 . Section 12A of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting

from paragraph (o) of sub-section (5.) the figure and symbols "(5.),".

3 .—(1 . ) Section 15 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by

omitting sub-sections (5.) and (5A. ) .

(2.) Sub-section (1.) of this section shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of July, One thousand nine hundred and seventy-one.

4. Section 28A of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting the word " paid" and inserting in its stead the words " payable or paid".
