I, the Minister for Planning, make the following local environmental plan under the

Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

1      Name of Plan

This Plan is Randwick Local Environmental Plan 2012 (Amendment No 1).

2      Commencement

This Plan commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3      Land to which Plan applies

This Plan applies to part of Royal Randwick Racecourse, being part of Lot 2009, DP 1169042 as shown coloured pink and identified as “Area A” on the Randwick Local Environmental Plan 2012 Additional Permitted Uses Map.

Amendment of Randwick Local Environmental

Plan 2012

[1]      Clause 1.8A Savings provision relating to development applications

Insert at the end of clause 1.8A:

(2) Despite subclause (1), a development application made before the commencement of this Plan in relation to land at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, being part of Lot 2009, DP 1169042 as shown coloured pink and identified as “Area A” on the Additional Permitted Uses Map, may be determined in accordance with this Plan.

Insert after clause 7:

8      Use of land at Royal Randwick Racecourse

(1)

This clause applies to certain land at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, being part of Lot 2009, DP 1169042, as shown coloured pink and identified as “Area A” on the Additional Permitted Uses Map.

(2)

Development for the purposes of hotel or motel accommodation, serviced

apartments and function centres is permitted with development consent.

(3)

Development consent under subclause (2) may only be granted by the consent authority if the consent authority is satisfied that the development will not result in the erection of more than one building on the land to which this clause applies.
