| On and after the publication in the Gazette of a notification by tlu' said Chief Commissioner that any such level-crossing is closed under the authority of this Act, all riglits-or-way on and over sueh crossing shall be extinguished. |
3 . In any case where, by the said Schedule, works .Sui.stiuition
arc to b(> construeted in substitution for a level-crossing, the said Chief Commissioner shall, before closing such level-crossing, provide and open for public trallic the bridge or subway and other works mentioned in tin; second column of the said Schedule, and set opposite to the description of the said level-crossing, with suitable curves, grades, and connections with thoroughfares.
So much of the lands comprising such bridge, subway, and works as is not within the lines of the boundary fences of a Government railway is hereby declared to be a public thoroughfare.
