On and after the publication in the Gazette of a notification by tlu' said Chief Commissioner that any such level-crossing is closed under the authority of this Act, all riglits-or-way on and over sueh crossing shall be extinguished.

So much of the lands comprising such bridge, subway, and works as is not within the lines of the boundary fences of a Government railway is hereby declared to be a public thoroughfare.
