ways and Electric Teleyrnphs.

WHEREAS it is expedient to make provision for the protection Preamble.
of Railways allcl Electric Telegraphs, and for the punish- ment of persons who may illjjure or destroy the same-Be it therefore Enacted, by the Governor-in-Chief of the l'rovince of South Aus- tralia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof-

mlsdemeannr matters, or things of or belongiag to, or connected with any Elcctric Telegraph, whether constructed or erected, or in process of construction or erection, or if any person shall wilfully or maliciously attempt to do or perforin any act whereby accidents rriay be occasioned or injury sustail~cct in the traffic of goods and passcngcrs on any Railway, such pcrson shall be guilty of a misdcmeanor, and being convicted thereof, shall be imprisoned, with hard labbnr, for any period not exceeding six calendar months.
